Inadequate space in warehouses can result in a number of limitations that are definitely not good for business. Apart from limiting the amount of machines and equipment that can be included in a warehouse, it can also affect the quantity of products that can be stored. Such a case would result in employees simply stacking the products on top of the other to make room for more. This however, could be termed a safety hazard.
Fortunately there is one particular feature of warehouses that can be utilised in an excellent way and that is the surplus vertical air space. So what can be done with the vertical space that these warehouses have?
Using the vertical air space to its maximum potential
With the amount of vertical air space that a regular warehouse has, it is easy to increase the internal space by installing mezzanine flooring. This kind of flooring is actually a raised platform acting as another level that can be found between the flooring and ceiling of a warehouse. Many times, more than just one level of mezzanine flooring can be installed in warehouses to increase their space.
The additional space the mezzanine floorings provide can be used in a number of ways. Of course, in a warehouse, its main use would be for stocking products, but mezzanine floorings are extremely durable and steady which means they are perfect for retail units as well. Mezzanine flooring can also be used in offices to create more space to accommodate additions to the workforce.
