Storage of materials and products has always been a concern for companies who have little space or cannot move premises. Manufacturers have searched long and hard for an answer to the question on how to increase the storage space without having to spend too much money. The answer to this is mezzanine floors.
Expanding vertically
Mezzanine floors are an innovative way of creating more storage room or a larger production area. In this way mezzanine floors allow the storage area to expand vertically rather than expanding horizontally. The advantage of using mezzanine floors is that they capitalises on the space available above rather than expanding the width of the building, which would prove to be more expensive. Also, the cost of building another separate storage area would be more costly compared to building a mezzanine floor.
Production and advantages
Mezzanine flooring that uses high quality steel is not only safe but also easy to construct. Constructing a mezzanine floor is relatively inexpensive and can be done in no time at all. Steel is relatively light and extremely tough and hence it can withstand a great amount of weight. The basic assembly of a mezzanine floor can be done in a matter of hours rather than days. Then other parts such as railings and staircases can be relatively fast to fit and easy to attach. Lifts can also be installed depending on the relative weight of the products being stored. Mezzanine floors are custom made to a given area and hence the area needs to be measured and a design briefed before manufacture.
