Mezzanine Floors – Purpose

There are many, many different purposes for a Mezzanine Floor.  In fact a they can be installed to create a balcony – as in a cinema or theatre, an extra floor in a retail outlet, an extra floor in a warehouse for storage, an extra floor in an industrial unit to increase office space – the uses for a Mezzanine floor is almost endless.

It is also easy to install a Mezzanine Floor on a temporary basis as it can easily be dismantled, as it is not an integral part of the building.  For instance it may be a practical solution for a large stadium to install a temporary Mezzanine Floor to increase the numbers of spectators for large events.

Generally speaking large warehouses have a lot of unused space due the internal height of the building.  To use the existing space, by installing a Mezzanine Floor, to increase capacity makes a lot more sense than relocating.  They could, in theory, significantly increase the profitability of the company without the inconvenience of moving.

The overriding benefits and purpose of installing Mezzanine Floors is to utilise existing space within buildings.  However, they can enhance a buildings design and purpose i.e. a Mezzanine Floor within an art gallery can add to the overall ambiance and display
